I may be exaggerating a bit with that statement, as NARS glosses still firmly hold second place in my heart. But apart from NARS, none of the other glosses I own even come close to the perfect color, creaminess, and staying power of Chanel.
Yesterday while out to lunch with my mother I picked up Insouciance (carefree in French) at the Chanel counter. As I'm sure you all know by now, Insouciance is a part of the Spring 2011 line Chanel has put forth.
I always admire the quality of Chanel's packaging: this gloss is definitely weighty! The black lacquered finish however, causes me to want to wipe off fingerprints at every chance I get.
Insouciance itself is the perfect rosey nude. The gloss has enough pink in it to steer clear of erasing my lips entirely, and on my skin tone ends up enhancing what I already have (potentially the HG gloss in terms of "my lips but better").
I considered purchasing Black Pearl, but I'm just not sold on the color. I thought to myself, "if this exact same shade were for sale at the drugstore, would I purchase?" Quite frankly I think the answer is no. I love black polishes, but I'm not the biggest fan of anything pearlized.
Despite passing on Black Pearl, I do still have my eye on the Ombres Perlées de Chanel eyeshadow palette. I've only heard good things and I may not be able to resist.
Have you purchased anything from Chanel's Spring 2011 collection?
