Seven Things Sunday

It's hard to believe that it's been almost a month since my last Seven Things on Sunday post! When I wrote the first installment of "Seven Things on Sunday," I explained that this is a way for me to present you with a current list of things I'm loving, liking or (very rarely) disliking.

One. NARS Fall 2012 picks. NARS Fall 2012 is online today and I couldn't be more excited. There has yet to be an autumn collection this year that has impressed me quite as much as NARS. I purchased fewer items than I have in the past, but I'm thrilled with my choices. The Vent GlacĂ©  duo ("cold wind" in French), Outlaw blush and Autumn Leaves lipstick will pair well together to create a complete, crisp weather look.

Two. Skin care, skin care, skin care! It started with a love of French pharmacies that blossomed into a love of all skin care that is now giving my obsession with makeup a run for its money. 2012 has certainly been the year of skin care products for me, and it shows no sign of slowing any time soon. My wish list is massive, my collection is ever expanding and my skin is loving every moment of it!

Three. Liner-less and loving it. I've long been a girl with a signature liner look. In high school (though my makeup was generally abysmal) I wore a very specific tapered liner shape on my upper and lower lash line, and for years after that subtle winged liquid liner was my "look." Between warmer weather and a new found love of my lash curler I've been going completely liner free ... and loving every minute of it! I'm sure I'll be back at it when the weather cools off once again, but I haven't felt so awake looking in an age.

Four. Special delivery! As I mentioned in my last Seven Things Sunday post, my in-laws took an exciting whirlwind tour of Europe recently. While in France they were kind enough to purchase a few of my favorites and send them back! I requested a favorite, affordable all purpose cream called Biafine, La Roche Posay's Anthelios SPF 30 spray and a favorite lip balm Dermophil.

Five. BBC's 2009 adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma. I'm certain you all know my love of classic literature by now. There isn't an old book that I've come across that I haven't liked (literally ... I've even read Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles more than once), but adaptations that sit right with me are often few and far between. If the 1996 Gwyneth Paltrow isn't for you (don't worry, I don't much like it either) this lengthier, more in-depth version will do the trick!

Six. Wedding Season. My husband and I were some of the first in a large group of friends to get married. We just celebrated our first anniversary this past Monday (July 9th) and attended the wedding of very close friends yesterday evening. There is nothing more rewarding in a friendship than being counted among the few privileged enough to witness such a special occasion. It's also a wonderful excuse to put dressy makeup to the test: YSL's Glossy Stains withstand warm weather outdoor weddings and dancing the night away! (Congratulations Caitlin & Matt!)

Seven. A few magnificent blog posts as always ...
