Though this may come as a bit of a surprise, I'm quite serious about reducing the size of my collection. While I'm comfortable with having a quantity of makeup that is *ahem* a bit larger than average, I'd prefer to avoid the avalanche of unused products I previously allowed to accumulate. A few months ago, in the beginning of April, I got serious about finishing products: the following empty items are a direct result of that change in my point of view.
Quite honestly, I find "empties" posts a bit boring; however, there is something to be said for their ability to inspire. Cosmetics are, after all, products that are meant to be used up. For this reason--though I never thought I'd post anything like this on Getting Cheeky--I chose to save my used up products both for myself and for you as a visual symbol of how much you really can use up if you reduce spending on duplicates and empty what you have in your cabinets first!
Not pictured: a bottle of Skin 79 Super+ BB Cream, a tube of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Finland and a LaVanilla Healthy Deodorant all of which I also managed to use up. Unfortunately their photograph did not cooperate during editing, and the empty packages were already long gone in the rubbish bin by the time I realized I needed another picture!
Do you make an effort to finish products, or are you content keeping a larger collection?
What are your thoughts on empties posts?
