In a quest to use products up my checklist is considerably shorter this month than it's been in the past. In all fairness, I've partially been making an effort to use things up so I can justify purchasing new things that have been on my wish list for an age and a day. My birthday is also coming up at the end of the month, which means that I've been holding off on purchasing things so I can treat myself to a few items when the time comes.
One of my wish list items that my lovely husband, Max (also known as Mr. Cheeky) was kind enough to purchase for me as an early birthday gift is Tom Ford's most popular fragrance, Black Orchid. With the exception of the warm summer months my taste in perfume can be described as woodsy and oriental. Nordstrom lists notes of bergamot, citrus accord, mandarin, gardenia, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lotus, orchid spicy floral accord, orchid, patchouli, sandalwood, incense, vanilla. It's perfect for the autumn, though I've been a bit sneaky and have been lightly applying it already. I can't resist ... it's my new favorite perfume!
I've used Indeed Labs Hydraluron Serum once, and my mind is made up. It really is that good. I tracked this product down on the Walgreen's website after reading a Hall of Fame rave review on Caroline Hiron's skin care blog (formerly known as The Beauty Mouth). Caroline does a magnificent job of explaining how this product works, but for information's sake the basic principle behind the product is relatively simple. Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient found plentifully in "young" skin that holds moisture and keeps it there. I had only to apply a thin layer of Hydraluron and follow it with my moisturizer and the results were incredible. I'm sold: if ever I've applied the term "Holy Grail" to a product it's been rendered null by my love for this serum!
As a bit of an unusual move I have a product in my Cheeky Checklist this month that I haven't yet used. Apricoderm is a Swiss skin balm that is touted as the end all be all. What's the problem you might ask? The problem is that I practically had to traverse the Silk Road to get my greedy little hands on a jar! The lovely Tia, who writes Life: Structured & Colorful, was kind enough to obtain a jar for me and send it to the states. I need to bring myself to use it ... but it's such a precious commodity that I haven't quite been able to. The "favorite" that really belongs on the Checklist is more that Tia was kind enough to track the product down!
Though glitter wasn't something I wanted on my nails for ages, I've recently been sucked in by the many interesting and unusual glitters currently available. From periwinkle sparkles, to rainbow glitter in an opaque base to a glitter that doesn't really glisten at all I'm fascinated!

And last, but certainly not least, an item that really should have been mentioned in yesterday's Seven Things Sunday post. I'm sure I've discussed my love of music on Getting Cheeky in the past: I have a vast collection and honestly prefer listening to music and reading to watching television. It seems to me that part of the joy of loving music is rediscovering old favorites, which is exactly what happened when I heard Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs a few weeks ago. I've always loved the band, but hearing the song reignited my obsession ... it's absolutely beautiful.
