Le Métier de Beauté Brings Us la Nouvelle Vague of Autumn Collections

Just when we think the deluge of similar autumn collections has already come and gone, Le Métier de Beauté brings us something as refreshing as it is exquisite. "La Nouvelle Vague" (meaning "new wave" in French) refers to popular French films of the 1950s and 60s that inspired Mickey Castillo, Le Métier's Color Director, to create the items the brand will release this October. Getting Cheeky is lucky enough to have a bit of advanced information, and because I am getting cheeky I can't keep a good secret!

On the left, the Nouvelle Vague Kaleidoscope Eye Kit features the following shades according to the brand (in descending order): "Nouvelle, a sheer mink negative, Gamine, a satin pin celluloid, Icon, a silky matte Parisian mauve and Fin, a smoldering black carbon." The Eye Kit retails for USD $95.

On the right, the stunning Breathless Kaleidoscope Lip Kit includes old Hollywood inspired shades as follows (in descending order): "Cinema, a velvety, ultra-rich true red, Existential, sparkling mauve with rose effervescence, Beau, deep berry crimson with matte finish and Celluloid, a glimmering, creamy flushed red." The Lip Kit, too, retails for USD $95.

Le Métier de Beauté's Nouvelle Vague collection will be available from October 2012 at Neiman Marcus (online and in stores), Bergdorf Goodman (online and in stores) and Saks (online and in select locations).

Though I own many individual pieces from Le Métier, I have yet to purchase one of their wildly popular Kaleidoscopes. Given the association with classic French films of the 60s and the versatility of the shades, the Nouvelle Vague Kaleidoscope Eye Kit has made me certain that it will be my first!
