Several weeks ago Le Métier de Beauté invited me to experience their CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set at my nearest Neiman Marcus. Never one to turn down an experience involving skin care, Le Métier and Neiman Marcus, I made the trip to the Northbrook, Illinois location to see what the buzz was all about. I tend to steer clear of peels given my skin's sensitivity, but after doing my background research I knew I'd be in good hands with Le Métier de Beauté.
Le Métier de Beauté has a well established history of impressing the masses with their innovative skin care and base products. When the brand released the widely acclaimed Peau Vierge Tinted Treatment, for example, the product sold out almost immediately. Nearly all of their skin care contains Retinol—an ingredient that would normally send a sensitive skinned girl like myself running for the hills despite its benefits—that penetrates the skin (stratum corneum) more deeply and effectively due to the fact that it is encased in vitamin E.
The aim of Le Métier's new skin care set is simple: to deliver professional, spa quality results in the comfort of your own home. The CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask retails for USD $265 and is sold as a set as the name would imply: the peel is delivered in a generous tube with its own brush applicator, and the mask comes in a tub (as seen below).
I've borrowed a bit of information from Neiman Marcus's website as a means of delivering more concrete information to those who are curious. The first step, Le Métier's CHEM60 Pro-Peel has "a proprietary blend of salicylic and glycolic acids [meant to] gently [penetrate] the skin's surface and [desquamate] dead skin cells to reveal younger-looking skin in as little as 60 seconds." The peal has the aim of diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles and increasing hydration to promote smoother-looking skin. Le Métier states that it is appropriate for all skin types and tones and recommends application between sixty seconds to five minutes as many as three times a week.
The peel is then immediately followed by the GLOW10ai Mask which "infuses [the] skin with an unprecedented concentration of antioxidants, vitamins and hydrators to help skin renew and rebuild, while strengthening skin's overall appearance." The mask utilizes a complex blend of moisturizers to renew damaged and dull-looking skin with the aim of reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation and has the added benefit of reducing redness caused by chemical peels and a bevy of other cosmetic treatments. Le Métier recommends leaving the GLOW10ai Mask on the skin as long as fifteen minutes.
As I mentioned, I had the pleasure of visiting my nearest Neiman Marcus with one of my best friends to meet with Le Métier de Beauté's product specialist and artist, Renee, to learn a bit more about the CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set and experience it's benefits for myself. To say that Sam and I had a good experience with the set would be an understatement.
Renee walked us through the product and it's benefits from start to finish. She began by applying the CHEM60 Pro-Peel for just under five minutes to each of our faces after we'd thoroughly removed all of our makeup. The product left us with a slight warming sensation, but none of the harsh discomfort that I've long since come to associate with peels and resurfacing treatments.
Following the removal of the peel Renee went on to apply the thick, gel-like mask with a cosmetic spatula in a generous layer around our faces avoiding the areas immediately surrounding the eyes and mouth. She let us peel off our own masks after fifteen minutes—lets face it, that's part of the fun!—to reveal skin that was already glowing.
Renee is not only talented (and beautiful!), she's also immensely well versed in all things Le Métier de Beauté ... not that I'm surprised given the caliber of the brand and it's representatives. She mentioned that she noticed immediate results with all of Le Métier's skin care which I initially questioned. After my experience with the CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set, though, I can see why results are so noticeable. Renee applied makeup on both of us following our treatment and used only a little concealer and Peau Vierge Tinted Treatment—Sam and I spent the rest of the day complimenting each other on our radiant skin.
Need further proof that the set delivers almost instantaneous results? Sam and I snapped a picture of ourselves just outside Neiman Marcus immediately following our treatment: the results are obvious. Our skin looks fresh, plump and glowing. I skipped makeup entirely today and my complexion is still radiant, baby soft and smooth over twenty-four hours after using the CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask!
Le Métier de Beauté's CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set is currently sold exclusively at Neiman Marcus, both at counters and online. If you have the occasion to visit Le Métier de Beauté's counter at the Northbrook, Illinois Neiman Marcus I highly recommend that you do so, and tell Renee that I say hello!
