Reds to Make Your Season Merry, Metallics to Make Your Season Bright

When I started blogging I recall setting up color scheme posts and there was something truly enjoyable about collecting items of one colorway or another. I've gotten away from them a bit since falling in love with photographing and writing my Inspired By Literature posts, but what better time of year to post one again than during the holiday season?

While considering what I wanted to post overall during the month of December one of the things that came to mind was sharing my holiday party look. Though I still intend to do this, I've already been to multiple holiday parties and have noticed a common theme in my makeup habits for seasonal fêtes: metallic and red. Reds truly seem to fit in with the merriness of the holidays while metallics make the season bright and the two pair beautifully during the season of lights.

Reds to make your season to merry (clockwise from top left):
Essie Leading Lady, Chanel Malice Le Vernis, Le Métier de Beauté Lip Kaleidoscope Breathless*, Tom Ford Wild Ginger Lipstick*

Metallics to make your season bright (clockwise from top left):
NARS Silent Night Eyeshadow, Dior Lady Le Vernis, Essie Beyond Cozy, Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense 8 Champagne, MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot, MAC Bare Study Paint Pot, Ellis Faas E305

What are your favorite merry seasonal reds and bright, illuminating festive metallics?
