Reading these suggestions immediately brought to mind a brand that I've been eager to try for months: RMS Beauty. One of my favorite bloggers, Taylor of My Lucite Dreams, has incredible taste in skin care and adores RMS for their natural and incredibly effective products. With such high praise in mind, I ordered the brand's much loved Lip & Skin Balm in Simply Vanilla.
RMS Beauty's Lip & Skin Balm is certified organic and boasts an incredible list of natural ingredients all aimed at promoting the skin's ability to regulate itself. The brand describes their Lip & Skin Balm as follows: "[A balm] made of superior food-grade
biologically active ingredients that support natural skin functions,
giving you a visibly healthier appearance. Each ingredient in this
must-have skin-rejuvenating formula has been carefully selected for its
traditional healing abilities. Use regularly to heal, protect and
hydrate skin, soften fine lines and give skin a smooth texture."
My lips love this product. RMS's Lip & Skin Balm needs to be warmed before it's applied as its ingredients make it slightly less emollient than other balms when it hasn't been warmed with body heat. Once applied my lips drink it up and almost immediately begin to look more healthy and plump. My only complaint is that I wish there were more in each pot. I can't get enough and find myself using up my first Lip & Skin Balm far more quickly than I'd like to!
Ingredients: cocos nucifera (coconut) oil*, cera alba (beeswax)*, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter)*, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil*, tocopherol (non-gmo), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, propolis extract, centella asiatica extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract*, vanilla planifolia (vanilla) extract*
If you order directly from RMS Beauty's website, the brand will also include a generous sample with your order. When I received my Lip & Skin Balm I discovered a generous scoop of Lip2Cheek (a lip tint/cream blush hybrid as the name suggests) in the shade Rapture. When RMS says that this formula combines hydration, protection and color they really mean it. I've been applying Rapture to the apples of my cheeks and without making me look shiny the texture and color of the product give my skin the lit from within glow I'm often missing during the dead of winter.
I want to thank you all for your lovely suggestions: I received many incredible ideas for the treatment of my eczema, and in the name of experimentation I was also led to some lovely products. I've been thrilled with RMS Beauty's Lip & Skin Balm and its ability to work wonders on my dry, eczema prone lips. Now that I know how gentle RMS products are I'm eager to try many of the brand's cult products such as "Un" Cover-Up, Living Luminizer and Raw Coconut Cream!
