Skin Care Routine: March 2013

Yet another month has passed (astonishingly) and it's already time for another installment of my monthly skin care routine series. Inspired by fellow beauty bloggers, and some of my favorite French bloggers such as La Vie en Blonde and Une Parisienne et Son Chien , I also decided to pen my own version of their famous monthly "Routine de Soin" posts.

As I'm certain you've now come to anticipate, I pledged that on the last day of each month I'd snap a picture of the items I've used all month on the shelf that houses them in my vanity. My Skin Care Routine series serves as a visual skin care diary of sorts, as much for me as for you, as it shows how my skin care changes from month to month and from season to season.

The saying that March is meant to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb certainly didn't apply where I live this year. The month started cold and snowy, and unfortunately with the exception of the past two days it ended cold and snowy as well! Typically in March I would start to include products geared at spring skin care: tending a nose that's been ravaged by allergies and tissues, products aimed at reducing dullness rather than dryness and more tinted balms for the lips rather than pure moisture. Unfortunately with the exception of today, I've essentially had to stick to the same routine as I have all winter. March skin care indispensables include La Roche Posay's Ceralip, moisturizing makeup removers and Aveda's Stress Fix Body Lotion for moisture mixed with the added boost of a relaxing herbal fragrance.

Moisturize: Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, La Roche Posay Cicaplast, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
Cleanse: Shu Uemura White Recovery EX+ Brightening Cleansing Oil, Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
Treat: Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, B Kamins Nia-Stem Serum KX*, Liz Earle Superbalm
Pai Echium Anti-Ageing Eye Cream
Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, La Roche Posay Ceralip

With the promise of slightly warmer temperatures on the horizon, it's been easier to remember to apply body lotion on a daily basis. Given my skin's propensity for dryness, the last thing I'd want is a particularly warm day to come along that would mean showing off wintry dry arms and or legs. March was all about the soothing and incredibly moisturizing Aveda's Stress Fix Body Lotion which smells herbal and just like a spa.
