Apparently in looking at the products listed below, April is all about powder products. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that as I'm waiting for my new bottle of Giorgio Armani Maestro, I've been continuing to use Bobbi Brown's Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm. As I discussed in my review (here) I like this product ... but it gives me somewhat shiny skin. For this reason I've been mitigating this effect by applying powders like a mad woman. Without question the top powder this month is Hourglass's much celebrated Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. Not only does this offer a lovely way to add subtle highlight to the face, but it also blurs imperfections (I apply this on top of concealer I've used to hide pesky spots) and helps mask the appearance of under eye circles. Could it get any better?
At the beginning of the month I found myself hunting for the perfect powder bronzer, and almost purchased another (though I'm still lemming a Guerlain bronzer if only for the packaging) until I remembered I had an unloved Rouge Bunny Rouge bronzer in the shade At Netherway Cove. I purchased this incredible product quite some time ago and then allowed it to wallow unloved in my collection. From the whimsical packaging to the beautiful light, natural looking and finely milled bronzer within I'm in love. I can't believe I've never written about this gem on Getting Cheeky ... do let me know if you'd be interested in reading more!
I often eschew eyeliner all together during the warmer summer months, but for whatever reason eye shadow mania has hit early this year! Along with my three favorites from MAC, I've been using Guerlain's newest addition to the mascara family Cils d'Enfer. I simply adore the mascara despite the dippy name which means Lashes from Hell in English. Though I completely understand that this is supposed to imply something not unlike "bitchin' lashes," it doesn't conjure the best imagery for me. When I think "lashes from hell" I think clumpy mess, something that the real Cils d'Enfer certainly does not do. Guerlain's latest masterpiece is both lengthening and thickening, boosting my natural lashes to false lash proportions. J'adore.

Last but certainly not least, I've been hooked on classic rose blushes flecked with gold shimmer. I'm certain that the number one blush this description brings to mind is NARS Orgasm, and I have indeed been using that perennial favorite far more than any of my other cheek products this month. I've also been turning to a favorite Bourjois Pot Rouge in Rose Coup de Foudre a lovely soft rose that illuminates and gives the cheeks the look of falling in love ... hence the sweet name.
What made it on to your checklist this month?
