Roundup: Fourteen Days With Eucerin

Two weeks after my initial post announcing fourteen days of using Eucerin products exclusively (HERE), I'm back to follow up with my thoughts and experiences. To recap, I was invited by the brand to use exclusively Eucerin products to moisturize and prep my skin for a period of two weeks. I was sent a selection of products including SPF 15 Moisturizing Body Lotion*, Dry Skin Body Wash*, Itch Relief Treatment*, Daily Moisturizing Cream*, SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotion* and a tub of Original Healing Soothing Repair Cream* and I haven't looked back since. As you will recall, this challenge was particularly easy for me to accept as I have been a fan of Eucerin products since my childhood dermatologist recommended the brand to my mother ... *ahem* many moons ago. Though the goodies one can find in a French pharmacie will always be favorites, I enjoy the comfort and effectiveness of a brand I've always been able to find on the shelf just down the street or around the corner in drug stores everywhere.

During the two week period two notable events occurred that put my Eucerin products to the test even beyond the daily dryness and eczema prone sensitivity of my skin. One week in, I not only got a tattoo (pictured below) but also experienced a massive flare up of eczema (no, the two events were not related). For this reason I ended up using all of the products on a daily basis as follows:

  1. SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotion* prior to applying cosmetics in the morning.
  2. Dry Skin Body Wash* during a shower or bath, followed by the SPF 15 Moisturizing Body Lotion* and Original Healing Soothing Repair Cream* in areas suffering from eczema.
  3. On days when my eczema was out of control and beyond itchy I used the Itch Relief Treatment* in lieu of daily moisturizer to soothe my skin.
  4. Most notably, the Daily Moisturizing Cream* has not left my side since my tattoo was completed a week ago today. My tattoo artist actually recommended Eucerin lotion (well timed!) and it's been indespensable to me as my winter wren begins to heal.

The unexpected favorite of the bunch was Eucerin's Itch Relief Treatment* that offered soothing comfort to my skin while moisturizing and reducing eczema. My old standby (a product that I've referred to as "the big guns" since my childhood), the Original Healing Soothing Repair Cream* was a must following applications of medicine meant to reduce the more pronounced flare-ups of eczema.

My, my, my how proud of me my dermatologist would be today! Just as I'd predicted (and he would have too) I've been thrilled by my two weeks with Eucerin. As you can imagine, my use of these products will not conclude with the end of my fourteen day Eucerin only regime. This range of eczema and sensitivity friendly moisturizers has always been my go-to, and it will continue to be so in the coming months and years.

Ultimately, my two weeks proved to me that Eucerin is up to any task where my skin is concerned. From tattoo care, to a moisturizer that reduced itchiness or an old favorite that penetrated my skin rather than sitting on the surface, Eucerin consistently left smooth skin where eczema prone areas had once been.

What are your favorite Eucerin products? Do you have any questions about my experience? I'd be thrilled to answer to the best of my ability.
