Skin Care Routine: May 2013

 *This post contains PR samples.
Yet another month has passed and it's already time for another installment of one of my favorite posts to write, the monthly skin care routine series. Inspired by fellow beauty bloggers, and some of my favorite French bloggers such as La Vie en Blonde and Une Parisienne et Son Chien, I too decided to pen my own version of their famous monthly "Routine de Soin" posts.

As I'm certain you've now come to anticipate, I pledged that on the last day of each month I'd snap a picture of the items I've used all month on the shelf that houses them in my vanity. My Skin Care Routine series serves as a visual skin care diary of sorts, as much for me as for you, as it shows how my skin care changes from month to month and from season to season.

I attempt to avoid saying this when I write these posts, but in this case it really is hard for me to believe that May has come and gone. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that the chilly, rainy trend that has prevailed in the earlier months of the year carried into this one making it seem earlier in the year than it really is. As I write the leaves have only just fully burst forth and the weather is finally consistently warm giving the impression that it is indeed the eve of June. Unfortunately despite the gradual arrival of warmer temperatures, I spent much of May suffering from allergies and my skin showed it. May's essentials include La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, and Lierac's Diopti Calm eye cream.

Moisturize: Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
Cleanse: Talika Démaquillant Soin des Cils, Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Facial Cleanser, Humphrey's Citrus Witch Hazel
Treat: Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Avibon
Lierac Diopti Calm Eye Cream
La Roche Posay Ceralip, NUXE Rêve de Miel, Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla & Macadamia Nut

As May begins (or at least, should begin) the season of bare limbs, body oils and intense moisturizers have been brought out for the season. I've been using Nivea's Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion* (review here) courtesy of the brand and find it perfect for the short hem season, and cannot get enough of the delectable citrus scented L'Huile Séche Pour Le Corps by J.R. Watkins*.
