Skin Care Routine: June 2013

 *This post contains PR samples.
Somehow we're at the halfway point of the year (how on earth did that happen?!) and it's once again time for one of my favorite posts to write, the monthly skin care routine series. Inspired by fellow beauty bloggers, and some of my favorite French bloggers such as La Vie en Blonde and Une Parisienne et Son Chien, I too decided to pen my own version of their famous monthly "Routine de Soin" posts.

At the conclusion of each month I snap a photograph of my most used skin care for the past month, a ritual made particularly interesting at the end of each quarter as it coincides with my empties posts (forthcoming) and provides a particularly revealing look at my most favored items.  My Skin Care Routine series serves as a visual skin care diary of sorts, as much for me as for you, as it shows how my skin care changes from month to month and from season to season.

Continuing a trend that began in the early months of this year, June was colder than it has been in years past. To be frank, I would rather have a colder and more crisp summer than one that is wiltingly hot. Not only do I feel more chipper, but so does my skin (and my fluffy, frizzy hair). I haven't had to switch to the "hot weather arsenal" given the more mild temperatures, so this month's routine has been business as usual with the exception of the triple threat facial as seen on Vivianna Does Makeup. This heavy hitting trio of face masks applied in short succession once a week has been just the pick me up to keep my skin clear, radiant and moisturized. Apart from my go-to trio of masks, June's essentials include May Lindstrom The Youth Dew, Clarins Bright Plus HP Gentle Renewing Brightening Peel, and Caudalie's lip balm.

Decléor Harmonie Calm Gel-Crème Yeux Lactée Délassant Eye Cream

Caudalie Lip Balm, NUXE Rêve de Miel, Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla & Macadamia Nut

After two months I am still madly in love with Nivea's Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion*. It makes my legs look perfect in summer dresses, and the hydration lasts for hours on end. On top of a good moisturizer, the summer months call for a dry oil to bring the feel of France to me ... wherever I may be. Some may feel wistful for summer when they smell sunscreen, but for me the perfume of NUXE Huile Prodigieuse brings back wonderful and sunny memories.
