Getting Cheeky's Top Five: Bronzer

 *This post contains PR samples.
Though I've been racking my brain each month attempting to come up with a different kind of cosmetic to feature in my Top Five series, I seem to have missed a favorite that many people adore as I adore blush: bronzer. I have quite a few bronzers in my collection, but it's rather easy for me to narrow down the list to five as I often struggle to find a bronzer that's just right for my ultra pale complexion. Overall this series is meant to give you a good idea of my taste where very specific categories are concerned, but in this case you'll also see some of my odd collecting tendencies (explanation to follow). If you'd like to take a look at my favorites from the beginning and learn a bit more about what products I can't be without, feel free to take a peek at my favorite blusherseye shadowslipsticks, lip glosseshighlightersbase productslip balms or red lipsticks here.

As I mentioned above, I'm quite pale and eschew self tanning products meaning that 27/7/365 I am a MAC NC20 or less. Bronzers that may not appear orange at all on a warmer complexion are at risk of making my fair skin look ruddy or carrot-ish (a highly technical term, naturally) so finding just the right shade can be tantamount to playing Goldylocks in Sephora. The selection below brings together my every day bronzers for all seasons, as well as my favorites that are just too pretty to use.

Guerlain Terra Inca Sublime Radiant Powder
When I said I had odd collecting tendencies, I meant it. Guerlain's Terra Inca Sublime Radiant Powder was released with the Summer 2011 collection and the moment I laid my eyes on it I knew it had to me mine. Unfortunately from the packaging to the beautiful print on the bronzer itself I just can't bring myself to use it on a regular basis. Sure I've used it carefully with a stippling brush a time or two, so I'm aware that the shimmering powder casts a healthy illumination across the cheeks, but apart from that I merely gaze at it adoringly. I really need to break this habit as Guerlain's powder is a stunner that flatters my pale skin when I need a bit of subtle shimmer.

Le Métier de Beauté Sun Kissed Bronzer* (Original Review Here)
Le Métier de Beauté's Sun Kissed Bronzer* is a product you'll find out on my vanity with my daily cosmetics. This pale golden bronzer mimics my own natural sun kissed glow when brushed across the tops of my cheek bones helping me to fake a darker look during the summer months and appear healthier and more radiant during the depths of winter. On top of the color's perfection, the powder is also incredibly finely milled and a little goes a long way.

Dior Aurora Bronzer
Dior's Aurora Bronzer is another in my collection that I struggle to bring myself to use. Also released in 2011, this smooth and stunning powder is as close to perfection as a bronzer can possibly come. It would be an understatement if I said that pale girls rejoiced when Aurora was released. I am aware that this was repackaged and released again this past year, but it doesn't come close to the beauty of the first version's tiled appearance. As with Guerlain's Terra Inca, I need to force myself to use this treasure more frequently.

Rouge Bunny Rouge At Netherway Cove Bronzing Glow Powder
Though I haven't swatched Chanel's Les Beiges powders in person, I gather that Rouge Bunny Rouge's Bronzing Glow Powders are incredibly similar. At Netherway Cove offers buildable bronzing capabilities coupled with a powder that can also set the makeup and warm the overall appearance of the face. Though I'm always hard pressed to select a favorite, At Netherway Cove is right at the top where bronzers are concerned. It's incredibly light, buildable, smooth and perfect for my complexion.

NARS Laguna Bronzer
Would it be a bronzer post without featuring NARS Laguna, a product as eponymous as the brand's famous blush Orgasm? What can I say about Laguna that hasn't already been said? A buildable, warm bronze that offers just the right amount of shimmer there is a reason that this is a favorite the blogosphere over.
