Skin Care Routine: August 2013

 *This post contains PR samples.
Amazingly August has come and gone and it's once again time for one of my favorite posts to write, the monthly skin care routine series. Inspired by fellow beauty bloggers, and some of my favorite French bloggers such as La Vie en Blonde and Une Parisienne et Son Chien, I too decided to pen my own version of their famous monthly "Routine de Soin" posts.

As many of you are already aware, I snap a photograph of my most used skin care for the month on the last day of each month. Many items vary greatly from month to month while other core bits I can't be without almost always stay the same. Ultimately my Skin Care Routine series serves as a visual skin care diary of sorts, as much for me as for you, as it shows how my skin care changes from month to month and from season to season.

Chez Getting Cheeky August has been busy and very hot! My husband and I started the month with a very low key road trip out west that required very little makeup, and we're ending the month with a quick trip to visit my uncle in the Southwest. We've obviously been on the go a great deal, so my favorites have been fairly basic and to the point. Apart from a few new products that I'm testing, I've kept it simple this month. August must haves have included La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo for heat related breakouts, Osmia Organics Sunset Body Oil* and Lierac's Diopti Calm Eye Cream.

I've been outside for half the month hiking, exploring Yellowstone and enjoying the great outdoors. Obviously that entails sunscreen and a lot of moisturizer. Though the skin on my arms has continued to be quite dry, I've been moisturized and completely sunburn free thanks to a very careful body skin care related routine this summer!
