While it's long been among my favorite brands, Tom Ford is quickly skyrocketing to the "all time favorite" slot. What Giorgo Armani offers in textural innovation, Tom Ford offers in consistent and unparalleled quality. I have yet to swatch or smell a Tom Ford product that has not impressed me. Perhaps it's the blossoming "perfumeista" in me that gravitates to this brand. While other high end cosmetic lines offer a well executed but predictable range of fragrances, Tom Ford innovates and orchestrates perfumes that are unique and absolutely stunning.
I've been less driven to purchase items from limited edition collections than I have been in past years, but that old "I MUST OWN IT" feeling returned when I laid my eyes on Tom Ford's Fall 2013 Ombré Eye Color Trio in She Wolf. Reminiscent of my most comforting and soft taupe sweater, this shadow trio is a bit of a chameleon appearing rich brown in warm light and cool grey indoors.
She Wolf offers three stunning browned taupe shades in distinctly different textures. Farthest to the left, a rich dusty chocolate anchors the palette, and proves to be the most utilitarian shade of the trio. Matte and far from being chalky, this creamy shadow pairs perfectly with its companions or stands alone with the aim of creating a rich suede eye for autumn. The palette's central shade is unquestionably my favorite. This shimmering brown taupe is incredibly smooth and blends like a dream. Farthest to the right, a cellophane shimmery shade adds a bit of unexpected glitz coupled with unexpected ease of use. In looking at the shade one might expect fallout and inconsistent application, but true to Tom Ford's standard this shade is as easy to use as the palette's other two stunners.
I'm completely enamored with all three shadows in the She Wolf palette. Perfectly tailored to stand independently or be paired, there is very little this palette cannot do if you love taupes as much as I do. As far as I'm concerned this palette is a must have. I've been enjoying the complex taupe trio now and can only imagine how much use I'll get from She Wolf come autumn and winter.
(Left to right): Tom Ford She Wolf matte, shimmering and iridescent taupe shades
She Wolf scintillates with its rich combination of matte, shimmering and iridescent brown taupes. Reminiscent of your favorite cozy sweater, this palette is the be all and end all where autumn eye shadows are concerned. Though She Wolf is my first Tom Ford shadow palette, it certainly won't be my last. The pigmentation, color complexity and ease of use are unparalleled.
Tom Ford's She Wolf Ombré Eye Color Trio will be available along with the rest of the Autumn 2013 collection in September; however, if you cannot wait Bergdorf Goodman currently has this palette in stock. It's the crowning jewel of the Tom Ford Autumn collection and likely won't last long. If you're as star struck as I am be sure to snatch her up before it's too late!
