Very early on in the year I wrote a post about my immense girl crush on the toast of just about every town, Michelle Dockery. I intended that it would become a series, but new makeup, perfume and general lemmings stole the show. Now as I sit here behind the keyboard once again eagerly awaiting the opportunity to use two very exciting concert tickets, I find myself once again prepared to gush about a longstanding girl crush. So I'll admit that I spend quite a bit of time wishing I were as cool as Emily Haines of Metric (my all time favorite band if you're new to Getting Cheeky and hadn't already guessed by the title).
Although I don't have a Jem and the Holograms after hours rock star persona when I leave my corporate job, there's no reason that this office girl can't take a page from the Emily Haines look book for my day to day makeup inspiration. Today's release of the music video for Synthetica has provided more than a few ideas. Although I may not star in music videos when I go to work, I look forward to recreating Emily's look for the foreseeable future.
After watching the video (more than a few times, I'll admit) I've settled on a nude lip, NARS Douceur blush and as many of the glowy shades from my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette as I can possibly pack on my lid at once. Top that off with a thick coat of my cherished Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara and I'm certain I will have recreated a look that Emily Haines would be proud of.
Have you been inspired by any celebrity makeup recently? Who is your current girl crush?
