Beauty Resolutions 2014

Somehow (and I really mean somehow) another year has come and gone. Of course at Getting Cheeky the close of one year and the dawn of another means only one thing: Beauty Resolutions. For two years I've reflected on my habits, purchases and preferences during the previous year and have resolved to make various changes to my routine, or to make certain colors the norm (à la bright red lips).

Penning this Beauty Resolutions post also forces me to look at the year from a blogging perspective. In 2011 I began writing Getting Cheeky, 2012 was the year during which I truly feel as though I came into my own as a blogger and 2013 has been the year of perfume and careful consideration of beauty purchases. Unfortunately 2013 has also been a year of incredibly hard work that has often taken me away from Getting Cheeky. I'd love to write posts every day, twice a day but real life has gotten in the way more than I'd like and a lack of interest in new cosmetics has left me with little new material for posts. But that's another story ...

2013's resolutions were as follows:
Wear bold (RED) lips more frequently.
Use products up and reduce, reduce, reduce!
Continue to keep in mind what's important and invest wisely.

Although I've made some resolutions in my personal life, my Beauty Resolutions for 2014 are as follows.

Use products up and reduce, reduce, reduce!
A tried and true favorite, this resolution has been on my mind every year since I began writing this blog. I've gotten better and better each year (as evidenced by my ample empties posts) and wish to continue that trend.

Explore outside your comfort zone.
Bright lip/glossy lip, neutral eyes, long wavy hair. I go with this look almost every single day, and while I love it I'm eager to explore outside my comfort zone a bit. I want to cut my hair shorter, try colored shadow for the first time in an age and be a bit more adventurous on the whole.

Make Getting Cheeky a priority.
A lot changed for me in 2013 and although it's all welcome, it's made keeping up with Getting Cheeky challenging. While I may never be able to post as much as I used to, I want to make sure that this blog remains a priority and that I make time to write in 2014.

What are your beauty resolutions for 2014?
