Hourglass N28 Lip Treatment Oil, A Luxe Winter Remedy

When I left the house this morning to drive to work the thermometer in the car read -12 Fahrenheit with a wind chill that made it feel more like -35. Oatmeal baths, lotion and frumpy warm clothes are the new normal as they are annually in January, but this years arctic blast was a bit more than I typically bargain for. Enter the Hourglass N28 Lip Treatment Oil, a luxe lip product with "[a] richly concentrated oil blend of cutting-edge actives, botanicals, and skin-rejuvenating vitamins for the delicate lip area."

Despite my compulsion to try any and all new luxurious lip products I somehow missed the boat on this Hourglass gem when it was originally released early on in 2013. I was nervous it would be too oily, and not thick enough to adhere to my lips. I finally caved just after Thanksgiving and I'm thrilled. Much like all of the Hourglass line, every aspect of this balm simply exudes luxury from the beautiful and modern packaging to the gold applicator. What I like best is the consistency: along the lines of an unguent lip gloss this herbal scented remedy goes a long way and is ideal for application before running out the door or as a treatment at bedtime.

At $42 a tube the Hourglass N28 Lip Treatment Oil is indeed a little luxury, but if your temperatures have been anything like ours it might just be a luxury you'll thank yourself for later. And given the sheer quantity of large coats, lumpy sweaters and unflattering headwear we're forced to don during the season of snow this anti-dryness remedy is just a little bit more luxe than your average winter remedy.
